I really wanted a red passport case and truly wanted to love this one. The idea of a vibrant, classic leather travel accessory from Pegai — a small leather goods brand known for artisan-grade craftsmanship and real full-grain leather products — was exactly what I had in mind.
Unfortunately, in practice the leather is very thick and quite stiff. Since I often carry my passport case in my trouser pocket, I needed something thin and flexible, and this just didn’t work for that purpose. The texture of the leather is also very prominent — something the brand highlights as part of its natural artisan aesthetic — but it ended up feeling and looking a bit heavy and bulky rather than a sleek travel slip-in.
I knew the interior was brown when I purchased it, but I would have personally preferred a fun or contrasting color inside — like yellow, pink, or even classic black — to give it more personality. The brown interior feels a bit muted compared to the bright red exterior, and a pop of color inside would have elevated the overall vibe.
That said, Pegai does have a strong reputation for real leather and handcrafted goods, and many customers love that authentic feel and craftsmanship. Overall, the quality seems solid, but for my needs — especially wanting a slimmer, pocket-friendly case with a more playful interior — it wasn’t the right fit.

Our vibrant Red color was designed to be bold and eye-catching, and we appreciate your suggestion about the interior. We kept it neutral to highlight the natural material, but we love the idea of more playful contrasts and will absolutely take that into account for future designs.
